        READY FOR SUNDAY
Sunday is here again, clothed in blossoms today,
At last our flowering tree came fully alive I’d say,
Ready for Sunday, wearing her very best dress,
I must admit my clothes appear dull I do confess.

Last Sunday it was many the lovely magnolia tree
That set Sunday to be bright, it seemed sorrow free,
A tribute to the special day so at least that once a week
In reverence and love the Lord we earnestly do seek.

The sweet and horse chestnut trees also glow bright,
As if each large candelabrum wants to give it’s light
On this God’s holiday day, yet look in the blue bay
At all the yachts and boats on the water go to play.

Just once a week that’s all He asks for us to worship,
Work and play the rest of the time, is it hard to skip
This commandment given since the beginning of time,
Be spiritually fed then for a short while you’ll feel fine.

A weekly dose of spirituality can brighten up the week,
Help you solve problems an answer to a prayer to seek,
Give praise in sweet gratitude for all the gifts given,
At least once a week find time for your Father in heaven.
