GATHERING CLOUDS
See how the clouds are gathering over the great lake,
Rolling in like waves of the sea a distant rumbling make,
The sun is putting up quite a fight, but she wont win today
For the clouds are low and heavy and hurrying our way.
The birds are getting quiet, the trees now bow and bend,
I am sure that within the hour sweet rain will descend,
But wait! The sun is trying to shine bright once again,
But maybe she can outrun all the clouds full of rain.
If the weather was a ball game It would be a tie right now,
There is no way of telling which at last will finally bow
To the others will but here come the clouds once more,
I think I will go and close the wide open patio door.
