More poems about Trees.

        IT IS NEARLY TIME AGAIN
Last year I wrote a poem about the ‘nearly’s’ on our tree
Almost bursting into blossom going to be so very pretty,
Well it’s nearly time again the buds already to burst
And I am waiting for it to happen like men who thirst.

I wish you could come and see all the ‘nearly’s’ everywhere,
Not only on our tree but the whole street is almost there,
I just cannot imagine them all blossoming close together,
Maybe it’s because we have had such inclement weather.

For the spring season is running almost three weeks late
Compared to last year, low temperature has been our fate,
Bur maybe it will be worth waiting for as late flowers come
And spring will last longer and not soon be over and done.

Yes it’s nearly time again as the dark petals start to bloom,
And the trees will be ablaze of colour to send away the gloom,
This could be the last day of the ‘nearly’s’ I can hardly wait
To see how many sweet blossoms show at such a late date.

The frost has not destroyed the ‘nearly’s’ on our lovely tree,
Just delayed the pleasure that is given to us all for free,
I’ll awake in the morning and I hope the sun does shine,
Hoping to see the ‘nearly’s’ gone from that tree of mine.
