JOYS OF CHRISTMAS
Christmas is soon coming, you can feel it in the air,
There is that special excitement found everywhere,
Most people seem happy as they go from store to store
Thinking of gifts for loved ones, even buying much more.
Decorations festoon all the malls and many a street,
Lights reflect in falling snow that brings an extra treat,
The sounds of festive music help you on your busy way,
And the big family gathering gets closer day by day.
Baking all the extra things remembering each happy face
Wondering if we can still manage the little ones fast pace,
But all the family helping squeezed round the table with glee,
Soon the baby will need a chair and not sit on mama’s knee.
But if we cannot be together each smiling face we will still see,
And have a toast remembering that we are an eternal family.
A toast to happy memories, another for many more joys to share,
Then feeling them all close by as we kneel together in prayer.
