        GONE ASTRAY
Hidden under a rock the sick lamb lay,
Too weak to bleat, maybe die this day.
The shepherd heard a mother calling her child,
Although tough and strong he was also mild.

A deep sixth sense led him to that very place
Where the lamb lay dying and feeling disgrace,
He gently lifted the lamb into his tender arms,
Now the baby small was free from hurt and harm.

The ewe and the lamb were united in happiness,
Every creature great or small will want to bless
Thank who had found a lost one who’d gone astray,
So go and be a good shepherd find someone today.

Good shepherds are needed to seek and to find,
Leave no stone unturned, call in a voice that is kind
That will heal a hardened but now broken heart,
Follow the prompting’s and of your goodness impart.

If I were to wander off from this ever-loving fold,
Come and seek for me out in the dark and cold,
Do not leave me all alone to fade away and die,
Show that you care, call my name with a sad sigh.

Then as I hear that voice I’ll feel that sweet love
That fills one’s heart with joy from heaven above,
Then I will return rejoicing for I know you do care,
So if I were to wander, please, I beg, for me be there.
