        VISIONS OF BEAUTY
SONNET 98

Visions of beauty surround us each day,
If we but stop for a moment and gaze
So see little things through the morning haze,
And the things half hidden along life’s way,
The violet hardly noticed as you stay
Blinded by garish treasures that amaze
The earthly minded, or cannot give praise
For a simple flower, or the fresh spray
Of the lake on a windy storm tossed day,
Seek out and find through all the earthly maze,
A moment of finding beauty that stays,
In the heart and mind and never decay.
Find visions to see wherever you go
And soon a sweet peace you will learn to know.
