GATHER ROUND
Come, gather round and Ill tell you a tale of Galilee,
Where someone called Jesus walked setting folks free
From pain and suffering, brought at last truth and light.
Humble people followed Him, wanted Him in sight.
At first the tale is joyful, many freely laud His name,
His deeds of healing and kindness bring Him fame,
But the proud fear Him, decrying their way of life,
And they want to destroy Him, bring Him to strife,
Tales of feeding many with a few fish and some bread,
Raising a rulers daughter so tenderly from being dead,
Calming the winds and waves of the raging storm at sea,
There are wonderful tales told of Him who walked in Galilee.
Gather round while I tell you of when He was weary and worn,
When He heard his friends send children away, He did mourn.
Let the little ones come unto me He said, do not send them away,
For as such is the kingdom of heaven and I need them by me today.
Many tales I could tell you of Jesus, for He is a friend of mine,
How He preached the gospel and lived a life so pure and divine,
Willingly suffered and died and arose for a sinner just like me,
So please let me tell you tales from the man who roamed Galilee.
