JUST A REFLECTION
A friend had a cute robin come to her windowsill
And saw his reflection there, and sorrow did fill
Her heart, the bird thought a companion he had found,
Waiting for a response at night he sat quiet on the ground.
Not just once, but many times did that bird woo himself,
Wont he look around, will he be left single on the shelf?
He must be a handsome bird with himself to so fall in love,
Maybe there is a message being sent to us from above.
Are we too self-centred just our own needs want to meet?
Not care about others, not even a smile or word to greet
Those around, just self fill the actions of each day,
May we take a message from the poor robin in dismay.
Not now will we feel the gap that selfishness can bring,
But when the final trump shall sound and angels sing
Proclaiming that the final day has at long last come
And we look around to see what good we have done.
