CHRISTMAS HYMNING
The sound of Christmas hymning was heard
Coming from the valley snuggled safely below
The craggy mountain peak where dwelt, Mark
The hermit, down there he often longed to go.
Once a month he came to shop, spoke no words,
Yet no one turned away in fear, some called his name,
He nodded and tried to smile, but different was he,
A twisted back, clawed hand, no, he was not the same.
But Christmas time he longed to join them down there,
Especially when he heard the sacred hymning so sweet,
Would they reject him and turn him very coldly away,
Or would they with kindness and love him gladly greet?
The Christmas hymning helped him overcome his fear,
He put on his snow shoes to join the people down there,
He quietly opened the old church door, the music stopped,
Then smiles and loving kindness were given with care.
Come join us Mark many called, we want you to stay,
Join the feasting and celebration be part of this family
Called the village, after praises a feast is all planned,
Of all fear and loneliness from then was Mark set free.
