        WHEN WE GATHER
When we gather on that great judgement day,
We need not speak a word or anything say,
For He will know what is in every heart and mind,
I wonder in me what He will really find?

Is my heart strong and my mind clean and pure,
Did I think enough of others, the sick and the poor,
Will He find me willing to serve Him for evermore,
Will I be made welcome at heaven’s open door?

Will there be something lacking in this life of mine,
Some part of me that is far from purity divine,
Will I fall short of the glory of my eternal home
And wander from those I love, sad and all alone?

I hope I’ll be found worthy of celestial life to take,
Keep the covenants that I now for others make,
Help stay me Master on the straight and narrow way
So thine eyes will smile at me on the gathering day.
