        NOT QUITE RIGHT
Fred J Margetson ca 1910
The flow of the ladies robe, pattern not right,
The whole robe itself showing too much light,
Distracting from the two faces full of love,
Even too much distraction from leaves above.
A building leading to the man face, not good
And he could not balance the man as he should.
The base of the dress not flowing, no depth at all,
Should there be behind them a dull plain wall?
How long did he struggle all that work for naught?
But he could not throw it away then for it caught
A glimpse of the man who wanted the perfect thing,?
I wonder how many times until his artistic bell did ring?
I will treasure this unfinished drawing the lesson it gave,
And to working for perfection be your aim to the grave.
