EYE CATCHING
Fred J Margetson ca 1908
Did he just see her, then catch his eye
As he walked along as she went by?
Did he say let me draw your face
For it is so full of beauty and grace?
Was it a loved one he drew from memory,
One when closing eyes he could ever see?
Those cherubic lips showing pretty teeth,
Warm, kind eyes, her hair as a wreath.
Who are you pretty lady in this mixed page,
Maybe some lost love from wondering days,
That faraway look and a graceful poise shown
Seemed more than a stranger, but one of his own.
