MY CAT JACKET
For my birthday this summer my husband
bought for me
A delightful cat jacket that you really do
have to see.
It is hand woven, well made and very pleasing
to the eye,
And I get so many comments as people
pass me by.
There are a few cats getting all tangled
up with yarn,
All very proper cats, not ones found
in the barn.
Each has a smiling feline face full of
lots of fun,
And many an admiring glance my birthday
gift has won.
The black cat plays kindly with a happy
looking mouse
As if they are friends together living
in the house.
The one at centre back has a blue bird on
top of his head,
A picture of domesticity all loving and
very well fed.
“I love your jacket” people say and we find
out what is there,
Surly one of the best birthday gifts, for much
joy I can share.
