SCREEN SAVER
On my husband’s screen saver is a burping frog,
Sitting on a large lily pad near a floating log,
A cute expression means he has swallowed a fly,
Hence the burp in sound and word then a sigh.

He is a handsome fellow, at least as frogs go,
Big eyes and bushy eyebrows that I can’t grow,
A lovely bright green with spots big and bold,
Any girl frog this specimen would love to hold.

There are some tall reeds he looks at with glee,
I wonder if it is another cute frog he can see?
I’d love to write a story about that burping frog,
There would be two on a lily pad near that log.

Maybe tadpoles swimming round in the water clear,
Then soon how many flycatching burps will we hear?
Not one frog would be sitting but a whole happy family,
Jumping and burping frogs everywhere just wait and see.
