More poems about Service

SERVE WHILE YOU MAY
When you are used to a life of trying to give,
You were taught that was the best way to live,
And proved it, for in serving blessings flow,
Thinking of others as through life you go.

Then comes a time when your turn is here
To be a recipient of sweet service so dear,
When sickness comes without warning
And serving others would be harming.

I still write poems that may make you smile,
But at the moment I can’t go that extra mile,
Yes, poems still flow but even for that effort indeed,
And for the first time I can’t meet others great need.

Busy hands almost idle, everything an effort to do,
Recovery seems too slow, but yes, I’ll pull through,
But for now I’ll be helped, maybe that’s God plan,
So we should always serve others whenever we can.

For a time may come when it’s your turn to rest
From serving others, although that way’s the best,
Sickness may strike with it’s unexpected blow,
So serve while you may for the future we don’t know.
