More poems about Winter

FALLING SNOW
As the curtains of night closed
over the world
The short winter day done, but
snow still swirled
And danced in time to some unseen
quiet sound
As more and more now covered
the ground.
Silence crept in stealthfully like
slippered feet
All things made dumb just white
snow to greet
Those who had to venture abroad
in the cold,
I just looked outside the great beauty
to behold.
Safe in the home with a warm fire
all aglow,
Really glad that this night I have nowhere
at all to go.
Ice and snow encased trees and like
ermine so fair,
Draped in mock warmth on everything
that’s out there,
I pray that shelter may be some haven for
all around
As the silent, cruel snow continues to
fall to the ground.
