CHRISTMAS TRANQUILLITY
This morning, Christmas day, I stepped outside,
A cold breeze touched my face and I sighed
With joy for, here in the usual noisy city I heard
Sweet silence, no cars or trains, just one lone bird
Broke the quiet peace with the flap of his wing,
Just a moment or two before he began to sing.
A tranquil time on this Christmas morn,
Remembering to celebrate that peace was born
When they laid Jesus in the manger years ago
And the angels sang, with Love the earth did glow.
A tranquil Christmas morning, perfect silence everywhere,
A precious gift freely given on the early morning air.
May the peace of Christmas fill each heart today,
So dwell with all folks as they travel lifes way.
