        WINTER FUN
The laughter came across the snow
As the lights flickered with a soft glow,
The skaters, some graceful, others clowning
All having fun, moving to the carols playing.

The snow flakes seem to dance in tune as well
And they glisten as past the lights they fall,
Coloured snowflakes enhancing beauty everywhere,
As they cascade in brilliance in the cold night air.

Busy shoppers stop for a moment and gaze,
Even smile and give some well deserved praise,
Over a good spin or a jump landed well,
Many wanted to join in, you could tell.

It looked like a happy Christmas card for all to see,
Those who were cold and hungry forgot the misery,
For a short while with old eyes remembering
Better days and some cold comfort it did bring.
