YOU LIFTED ME
From the sinking sounds of sorrow you lifted me,
Free self pity and depression you set me free,
Your hands and heart stretched in sweet love,
Showing me the caring of my Father up above.
A true kind friend who I know saved my life,
Helping me overcome all my troubles and strife,
You listened when I needed to pour out my soul,
You gave me the strength to help me feel whole.
You helped me see my own mothers hurt and pain
and trying to tell me that I was never ever to blame,
A shoulder to cry on and know you were there for me,
A dear friend who Ill love now and for all eternity.
You have taught me joy and happiness can come my way,
Now I see light at the end of my tunnel of despair today.
Please accept this lap quilt and as you quietly sew and read
I promise of your words and council I will take more heed.
