More poems about Humility

BE THOU HUMBLE
Just when you think you are improving, doing fine,
Keeping the commandments living a life sublime,
Doing much better than you have ever done before,
That is when subtle Satan will knock on your door.

You go and do or say something silly, be thoughtless,
Tactless or angry and many a step quickly regress,
Then comes the heartache, the pain of deep remorse,
And it’s hard to turn to the Master, loves true source.

The balm that flows from heaven to heal that soul,
Will wipe away the heartache make you feel whole,
When the healing is done, and your pride gone away,
You realize that you need humility every single day.
