PRETTY OCTOBER SNOW
We had photos from loved ones in Edmonton.
All it needed was the glow of a cold sparkling sun
For a perfect Christmas card, pretty as can be,
But this is only October and of snow be all free.
Quite a few inches where green grass should grow,
And the trees lovely ice patterns do bravely show,
Roof tops seem ready for Santa and his reindeer,
But he wont be there, not for a long time I fear.
I wonder if they forecast more snow to come down,
I am sure those in the west are wearing a big frown,
I hope it all melts away at least for a month or two,
Or they may move over to the east to stay with you.
We have a couple of beds to spare if you run away,
Come and enjoy pleasant weather and for awhile stay.
Why not build a snowman and see how long he lasts.
I am sure winter has started this early in the past.
Thank you for the photos of your pretty white snow,
Now in just a sweater off to the store I must go
To get the things for the Christmas pudding today,
The photo helped me realized winter is on her way.
