AWAKENING THE IMAGINATION
Sometimes it just takes a little something for imagination to flow,
A word spoken, a thing seen and on an adventure the mind does go,
Ideas tripping about like fall leaves dancing down the windy lane,
Now after a short draught my mind is much too busy once again.
I hear the laughter of those leaves as they all chase and whirl about,
They are enjoying to the full the last of their life that I do not doubt,
Watch them as they prance and jump as with the wind they dance,
Any artist painting this happy scene would really and truly enhance.
Now I see the last of the birds congregating before they go away,
Looking around and counting, who has seen our Fred they may say,
There seems to be one in charge for organizing everyone there,
Making sure that they know where to go, who needs extra care.
Look for things that help your imagination run just a little wild,
Write things down that you see and feel, become a little child.
Turn yourself into a dance-leave or a bird going far away,
Come let your mind run free even if its only for a single day.
