BE THOU HUMBLE
How do we gain humility? How can we be like Him?
One of the hardest virtues to gain, not by some whim,
This attribute happens when child-like we become
And our own desires and needs are all overcome.
When we say, Thy will be done, mean it too,
Then a spark of humility will have come through,
When were teachable, submissive to God above
And accept all our trials with an increase of love.
When we never grumble or find fault with others,
When we accept as equals all our sisters and brothers,
When we can accept a compliment with sweet grace,
And put into our image the love of the Saviours face.
Be thou humble and feel of that closeness to divinity,
Feel the Masters hand in yours, the joy and liberty
That comes from true submission to Gods command,
Then to help others to find the strength of His hand.
