COLOURS
Not many people mention black as their favourite shade,
But if it is on my bank statement when all bills are paid,
It could be my favourite colourinstead of it being red,
Everything is fine that way, instead of in red dread,
So black is a nice colour when in the right place you see,
And red in flowers or a sunset is as pretty as can be,
Blue for a glorious sky and reflected in lakes and sea,
But never feel blue so you are full of sadness and misery.
Yellow dandelions and daffodils heads up to the bright sun,
Is really a lovely colour and many a first favourite has won,
Yet yellow is for cowardice, that bright colour does indicate,
Fancy such a lovely colour having such a dark mate,
Green so bright and plentiful, great beauty everywhere is seen,
Grass, ferns and trees and flowers and many birds do preen
Green feathers, yet green represents envy which is a terrible sin,
And can all goodness and kindness be swallowed up within.
Let us look on the good side of colours whatever they be
Black is not evil but just means you are being debt free,
Evil is in the thoughts, not in any shade or pretty colour,
Let us look for the good in all things, happiness to discover.
