PUPPIES - PLEASE PICK ME
On a window ledge just before the old
barn door
Was a sight that any animal lover would
surely adore.
Seven hound dog puppies looking right down
straight at me,
Please pick me each face implored, I’m the best
don’t you see.
We had come to get fresh eggs and some goats
milk too,
The thought of a puppy to us had not come
into view,
But look who could say no to those eyes so
big and brown,
Then a sign stating FREE TO GOOD HOME,
made me frown.
Now tell me dear friends of mine could you really
walk away
Without a free puppy when each of them seemed
sadly sad?
Please pick me and take me home and I’ll be
a good friend,
Which one would you choose for a companion, on whom
you can depend.
