A TREASURE
Did you ever see a squirrel with a peanut butter cup?
Still wrapped in its paper ready for a special sup
Of goodness, then all his friends wanting some too,
The photograph made me smile, wouldnt it you?
Did he go trick or treating with a little ghost bag,
Or a jack-o-lantern, dress up like some little lad?
Or was the treasure found dropped by mistake
It sets ones mind thinking and a good story make.
I wonder did he share it or eat all, get a tummy ache?
How much happy chatter did our furry friend make?
He may have stored it away to save for a cold day
And invite some friends over for awhile to stay.
Would he eat the paper as well as the goodies inside?
There is no one to tell him what is hidden there inside,
He will smell the peanut butter and the chocolate too,
I bet he will just eat the lot and have more to chew.
But however he eats it may he enjoy his treasure,
And sharing it I feel would give him extra pleasure,
I wish I could peep into his cozy home and maybe then see
Him covered in peanut butter and chocolate happy as can be.
