HOUSEWORK
Sometimes housework is a bind,
Much better things we can find
To do than vacuum, mop and dust,
But unfortunately they are a must.
I had been busy, housework left alone
And my husband invited a friend home,
I hope she did not notice the mess around,
Yet enormous dust bunnies did abound.
I awoke and cleaned right the way through,
Just like any good housewife should do,
I know no one will call for awhile, you see
They will come when dust is in front of me.
Windows need cleaning, also tidy the hall,
Wipe lots of finger prints off every wall,
Wash the crystal so that it sparkles again,
But each of these tasks are a great pain.
When I was younger and full of energy,
I could whizz through the house with great glee,
But age creeps up, I have other things to do,
So close your eyes if dust bunnies poke through.
