More poems about Summer

        SHORT OF SUMMER POEMS
On looking through my poetry to my great surprise
There are less summer poems that came to my eyes,
Yet summer is fair with too many gifts to name
And for me to neglect her seems an awful shame.

Long days with flowers fragrance on the warm air,
Nature in her prettiest gown her beauty to share,
Gardens and fields starting to yield a harvest fair,
With your favourite flowers being gathered everywhere.

Sweet birds song awakes you before the very early dawn
Of heat and haze, new adventures may then be born
As you find things to do to try to keep cool and sweat free,
But still there are many glorious things for you to see.

It’s a little cooler by the lake and the breeze is refreshing,
A wonderful place to go when the hot sun is then setting,
But please go with bug spray and maybe a bug zapping bat,
Then enjoy the scene before you with very mossie and gnat.
