DISPLACED FLY
We set off on a trip with a fly in the car,
We did not notice until we had gone quite far,
The we opened the window to let him fly out,
At last he flew off, free, but did that fly shout?

He was miles away from home, that he knew,
Was he sad and downhearted, feeling quite ble,
For he was too far from home to fly all the way back,
And another long car ride he would surely lack.

Did his family wonder why he did not return home?
How could he explain the reason that he did roam?
Would he ever see them again, would they all worry,
For buzzing off into that nice car he was very sorry.

Maybe he would like the place better than before,
Free moving trip to find another new front door,
But I must admit that I worry about a lost fly,
I hope his heart won’t break or curl up and die.
