A LOVELY DAY
Today seems a lovely day, humidity not too high,
Not a cloud found anywhere just a vivid blue sky,
A gentle zephyr wafting sweetly from the lake,
A day for a picnic and a country walk to take.
Birds are singing, their music carried on the breeze,
Coming from hidden alcoves in the graceful trees,
Only a little ruffle on lake Ontario so big and blue,
On a day like this there are so many things to do.
Too nice to stay indoors, a shame some have to work,
If I were not retired I would be very tempted to shirk,
I want to go out and count flowers, every blade of grass
And deep down inside, hope this great day will not pass.
But pass it will, so lets hope the next day will be the same,
Warm and sunny, with a gentle breeze her world to claim,
If you cant get out, go into the garden or out on balcony,
Remember lovely days like these, add them to summer memories.
