WATER FILLED POTHOLES
Water filled potholes I can really understand,
Hit them with the car or step in them ankle deep,
After a shower many of them hidden often stand
Waiting to trap you, hard for your temper to keep.

Someone asked what an upside down one would be!
A water filled bump, my mind boggled at the thought,
It almost made me laugh out loud quite hysterically,
What on earth in their youth had they been taught!

I do not know which is worse to meet on the road,
A water filled bump or a big soggy pothole all wet,
Driving is bad enough now to honour the road code,
But water filled bumps everywhere would me upset.

You could slide every which way if you landed on top,
More accidents would be seen everywhere, no one to blame
But the water covered bump in the road where you did stop,
Think of the difficulty of getting your insurance claim!

Potholes are bad enough, so let us leave it just like that,
The worse that can happen is your U joints may break,
Or you get stuck in there somehow or get a nasty flat,
Please leave water covered bumps alone for goodness sake.
