WHEN I WAS YOUNG
Come climb upon my knee, let me tell you about when I was young,
All the games we played, friends I had, songs we sung,
Then you can tell your children of things that used to be,
Lots of things you’ll remember when I'm gone to think of me.

They sat, then ran to play, how much you will remember later on,
I should write it down all the places I went to, things that were done,
I'll start tomorrow, I'll go out and buy a journal or note book,
Write down all I remember then put safely away in a little nook.

In todays technology is that really quite good enough for you,
Write it on the computer that is now so much quicker to do,
And if you forget something you can go back, add a thing or two.
Then give each child a disc when at last your life is through.

Print out a hard copy when you feel all is then complete,
Your grandchildren will read it and think these things were neat,
But not pass from this life without your special story being told,
And to folks forever you will never be forgotten or get old.
