DARKNESS
The darkness was oppressive, breathing quite hard,
It was so intense you could not see one single yard
Ahead or behind, all the power was out as well,
To see where you were going was really hard to tell.
In with the darkness was a fog that was very dense,
You could not distinguish tree, bush or long fence,
Clothing became all damp and dirty from the air,
It was not fit for anyone to be about alone out there.
The fog and darkness seeped in underneath the door,
Twas like some evil creature crawling over the floor,
Feeble candles flickered as oxygen was in short supply,
I wondered how many sick folk that night would die?
I thought back in time to when Jesus was crucified,
Nothing could penetrate the darkness, light denied,
At least we had candles to show us the right way,
But on this dark foggy night a message came my way.
We cannot walk in darkness we need to have a light,
We should be able to shine through the darkest night,
Let no fear overcome you in that evil darkest hour,
Let your light shine and you will feel His great power.
