More poems about Reverence

AT THE START OF A MEETING
Listen to the prelude music playing soft and sweet
As we gather in reverence, together with joy to meet,
Yet there is a disturbing chatter everywhere around,
It would be wonderful to hear the music’s sweet sound.

Listen to that melody as it flows from the fingers playing,
It is like a serene prayer to heaven so quietly ascending,
Can the others around not feel that peace and serenity,
That comes from the music and seems to heal me?

I’ll listen through the turmoil, try and shut it out
Pretend it’s just me, the music and the spirit all about,
Then I am ready for the meeting to understand His word,
And I am grateful for the prelude that sone of us heard,
