        MEETING BAXTER BOY
We went to visit friends to have a meal and chat,
Another reason was to at last meet their big cat,
We sat around and talked and visited for awhile,
Then we ate and talked more had many a smile.

Then entered Baxter, he was as cute as could be,
He came right up and made quite a fuss of me,
Let me pet him, rub his ears, purred a loud song,
As if we had been buddies, known each other long.

Now I know why our friends tell of Baxter boy,
For he is a ray of cat sunshine to bring much joy,
He, like all cats know that the roost they always rule,
And people who don’t know that join dogs that drool.

Thank you friends for the meal and the happy chat,
And also for at last meeting Baxter your handsome cat,
No wonder you brag and tell of the things he does new,
If I had a cat like Baxter boy I think I’d do that too.
