REFRESHMENT FIND
Often in the lazier days of summer inspiration may be slow,
A kind of languid stillness in a creative mind does show,
Normally very active my brain has somehow slowed down,
Yet inspiration in nature is good wearing her prettiest gown.

A new friend said something that was very profound to me,
If summer is not a time for creativity, why not let it then be
A time of great summer relaxation and refreshment sweet,
So I may give my thoughts a holiday, they need a treat.

For I think I have overworked my mind, it is under strain,
For I had set a high goal for myself this year to obtain,
So I’ll go down to the lake and pretend it is the ocean blue,
When you cannot see the other side it is easy for me to do.

I’ll take a book or pencil, read and draw and maybe write,
Watch the seagulls come for bread, such a pretty sight,
Watch the yachts sail gracefully at least for part of the day,
Then refreshed and relaxed ideas then may come my way.
