TOTAL TRUST
Have you ever seen the trust a blind person
has in his dog?
Stepping boldly forward both in sunshine
and the fog,
That gentle friend sees that no harm at all
would ever come
To his owner, always on guard until the
journey is all through.
I watched at a busy train station how well
the dog did lead,
Without any fear showing that owner
always took heed,
Weaving dextrously through the crowd at
quite a good pace,
Found a spot on the platform by a seat in
a small space.
Both stood when the train came in and
the doors opened wide,
For both dog and man my admiration I
could not hide,
Four steps the dog barked once and then
one step up he took,
One more bark, he was clear of the doors
as the dog did look.
The perfect trust between them taught a
great lesson to me,
Of how much pain and worry we would
be forever free
If we put that much trust in the saviour to
guide along our way,
Yes, the scene of the dog and his master
touched me that day.
