WHERE CAN I TURN
Where can I turn when all things seem
to go wrong?
And that I will never ever again sing some
pleasing song
Of happiness, some sweet melody of
eternal joy,
It appears that my heart will only sad
songs employ.
Then I remembered the suffering of our
dear Lord,
Not once from His lips came a spiteful
moaning word,
But in silent sincerity He suffered in that
sacrifice divine,
So why should I moan and groan if some
suffering is mine.
I need my refining fire as I can become as
pure as gold,
Endure well to the end in goodness so His
face I may behold.
Turn to the Lord in our trials for He surely
knows the way,
Showed by example how on the straight and
narrow to stay.
But grateful for the refining for it will prove
your great worth,
It will purify the heart and so then we will
inherit the glorious earth.
