TRUE SILENCE
I have never found true silence, there is always
a quiet sound,
However still the large lake when no breeze is
even found,
There is a quiet lapping sound or a creature
in the grass,
The beating of tiny wings as many small
birds pass,
The whispering of the weeping willow telling
a sad tale,
The drone of a boat engine when they cannot
use the sail,
A fish jumping out of the water to try and
catch a fly,
The bees buzzing as from flower to flower
they go by.
At night the quietness increases but still
sounds are heard,
The night hunters are out the peace of night
to disturb.
The haunting sound of a whistle and roar of
a far away train,
The sudden cry of the frightened animal before
death heals the pain.
In a way I am glad that sounds can always
come our way,
Not loud crashing sounds that come to us on
a hectic day,
But the quiet sounds of nature or sounds that
sweetly tell
You are not alone in this world and a wonderful
place to dwell.
