A KITE IN HIS HAND
If we can think of ourselves as a kite in His hand,
And the string the gospel and then understand
That the winds that blow the kite so high,
Are all the adversities that cannot pass us by.
We cannot fly a kite when no wind does blow,
Dormant and untested with nowhere to go,
We have the string of the gospel strong and true,
And Jesus, our Master, to hold us in all we do.
So to prove, we as a kite, can reach the heavens above,
We are sent the blessing of trials and hardship with love,
Remembering that much adversity we have overcome,
This is the tail of the kite, each windswept battle won.
With the Master holding onto our gospel strong string,
We can fly so very high and overcome every single thing
That the adverse wind sends to destroy and rip us apart,
But we will grow in strength and develop a loving heart.
Let the winds of adversity blow to make us strong and brave,
Then of bitterness and grumbling never become a weak slave.
For as a kite seems to always reach beyond sight in the sky,
So we through adversity can gain our heavenly home on high.
