More poems about Summer

SUMMER IS HERE
Everywhere is so pretty, summer in her splendid gown,
Bathed in early morning dew, awakened refreshed today.
The sun is warm, no clouds mar the sky, no need to frown,
No sad faces, for summer shares bounteous gifts always.

See the wild flowers like rich material so fair,
The crops in the fields seem to grow as you gaze,
The song of many birds with sweet joy fill the air,
And the scenes in the distant appear in an ethereal haze.

On trees great and small many shades of green are seen,
Swaying in the breeze, sweet shade to all does give,
A quiet power they own as if forever they have been,
They appear to know that without them we could not live.

Welcome sweet summer you come like a blushing bride
Dressed in robes of beauty, blessing everywhere around,
On winter days we dream of you as far away you hide,
But the joy when you come its likeness is not yet found.
