HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT
We wanted to serve a mission, yet as temple workers stay,
A stay at home mission will enable things to work out that way,
It’s like having your cake and eating it both at the same time
And of not being busy at all we can truly never think to whine.

As long as we do thirty two hours a full time mission we serve,
Leaving time for two days at the temple, more joy than we deserve,
We will not have time to worry or mope around at all or fret,
But we may meet ourselves come back, not done that yet.

The missionary tool that will really help the gospel spread fast,
‘Tell Me About Your Family’ will be a great spiritual repast,
This is something the Lord has called us to learn and to train,
All this wonderful work as well as our temple service retain.

How blest we are to have our cake and also eat it as well,
No two other missionaries have been blest, as we can tell,
Gratitude overflows into a fountain of thankfulness and love
To our loving Father and His Son, smiling on us from above.
