THE PAGES OF A NEW BOOK
I can remember quite well, the first pages of a new exercise book
Were always neat and tidy with my best writing, it would look
A picture of order and neatness always proud to open and show,
All the work on those new pages my good intentions Id know.
Maybe a month this would last, maybe a week or two more,
But it took time to be always neat and tidy, that I knew for sure,
So one day my exercise book became a mass of scribble and mess,
Though I put notes down quickly they were hard to read I confess.
Then one year I realized that spending time writing clearly down
Saved later on a mind full of confusion and many a puzzled frown,
I did a lot better at school that year, everyone wondered why,
I just smile at my neat and tidy note book, a twinkle in my eye.
Now this notebook will be different for although I write my best,
The deciphering and reading of it to me will always be a test,
For I write in it whist driving along many a road or fast highway,
So I am glad I have a fairly good memory at the end of the day.
Someone looked at an old notebook thought it shorthand or code,
As she tried to understand the writing in a rather long sweet ode,
I explained that always happens as you try and write while in a car,
It also helps with copyright at least we have had no problems so far.
