A PAIR OF CRAZY DUCKS
A pair of ducks waddled along the highway
in the pouring rain,
I wondered by this excursion what the ducks
hoped to gain,
Almost running, slish-splash as they went
quickly along,
Why didnt they fly? With there wings
was something wrong?
We gave them a wide birth as we went
past in the car,
They were on the correct side of the road,
we wondered how far
They had waggled along the highway, it
was very hard to say,
They did not even fly off when a big truck
went the other way,
The rain had been torrential so may be they
had waterlogged wings,
Although for ducks I wondered at all if
there could be such things,
Maybe they were a pair of duck criminals
secretly on the run,
Or a mom and dad ducks on a date just
having lots of fun.
