WORKING ANIMALS
We all know of a seeing eye dog for the blind,
And cats and dogs with a talent of a different kind,
For the deaf the warning of a door bell or telephone,
A pair of sharp ears for their loved one they do own.
Then there are police dogs that do work of every kind,
A more loving, caring partner would be hard to find,
Sniffing dogs, rescue dogs, strong in body and heart,
Many of Gods animals often help us all do our part.
But some birds have jobs to do in the world of man,
Falcons can be life savers, believe it if you can,
In Torontos airport a pair of falcons dwell,
Now if you will listen of their work I will tell.
In that busy place that is not far from the lake,
Many a goose and seagull a journey do often take
Up to the airport but that is dangerous you see,
So the falcons are sent to chase them with glee.
For the flight path needs to be clear of birds of any kind,
For a seagull in a jet engine we would oft times find,
It could cause a crash with hundreds on the plane,
So to stop this catastrophe is the falcons aim.
Next time you drive past or visit look all around
And if there are geese or seagulls about on the ground,
Look up and see the falcons working flying very high
Keeping Toronto from one of the safest places to fly.
