REAL MAIL
If in the mail box there is just junk and the bills,
Your heart sinks for in the mail no special thrills,
There maybe false hope of some needed money won,
But nothing to start you smiling, no real, proper fun.

But if among the junk and bills a real letter is there,
The difference that it makes is quite beyond compare,
All the other stuff is left and you hurry the letter to read
And of all things around you, you make no real heed.

Young Jimmy has a new puppy, school is going well,
You enjoy each moment, no matter of what they tell,
It is read and re-read again, then put quite safely away,
Just in case you don’t get another one for many a long day.

A letter in the mail puts a smile on a loved ones face,
Better than a tonic, not even a phone call takes it’s place
For you cannot re-read a phone call or put it near your heart,
Think the last time a letter came, then go and do your part,
