WAYS TO SERVE
Why do we say a kind word or do a kindly deed
Why do we serve others or plant a missionary seed ?
There are four reasons why we act that special way
And the one we choose in our hearts us will betray.

The least good for the good actions is, ‘the look at me’
I work so hard doing good, so many others may see
The way I act and hold my head up and proudly say,
I know I’ll make it back to heaven, I found the way.

The second is for self enjoyment, fulfilling as can be,
Doing good deeds not for show but because of me,
It makes me feel so good when a kindly act I’ve done,
It is as though for myself a great battle I have won.

The next is even better when of your fellow men you think
And into self gratification you would not dream to sink,
But for the good of others labour hard and long each day,
Everyone will know you are good as you go along life’s way.

But the very best way to serve is that we want to show love
To our blessed Redeemer and our Father in heaven above,
Be kind and work with deep eternal love, that’s the way to serve,
And if we strive with all our hearts we will gain what we deserve.

Good needs done in four different ways we can see quite plain,
People are being blessed by service, it is us who loose or gain
The glory of the Master by what is deep within our heart.
So let us try and serve for the Master, or blessing will depart.
