ARSON
The acrid smoke belched out like poisonous venom,
Blackening all it covered and blocking out heaven,
People dropped like flies overcome by filthy smoke,
Making all for miles around feel they are going to chock.
The odour rips at the stomach and lungs feel scorched,
What evil caused this travesty ? Who was it that torched
The buildings and made life for some folks a living hell,
The reek of carnage, and burning flesh, now does dwell
Instead of fragrant flowers and sweet scented fresh air
I wonder did the arsonist stop and think, did he really care
That he caused death and destruction, heartache out there?
Yesterday all enjoyed the perfume of a young spring day,
Now all is changed as toxic fumes now waft along our way,
Sadness and sorrow, instead of the sweet joys of spring,
Even the birds in the trees have all ceased to brightly sing,
The stink will linger long, even blossoms cant take it away,
A black cloud of arson came screaming at us this cruel day.
