More poems about Spring

AMBROSIAL FRAGRANCE
The night was sweet and balmy, spring fragrance everywhere,
The perfumed blossoms with redolent pungence filled the air
Like an ambrosial meal shared with some mythical heros of old,
A feast of unimagined food with a mixture of spices untold.

Nostalgia overcame me on that spring evening so soft and fair,
It was as though I was young again and all I loved were there,
Walking on the lawn with me, relishing the fragrant meal,
Filling us with pure delight, feeling myself begin to heal.

Tempting, tasty, tangy, an aperitive for the tastes in heaven above,
Yes, spring’s many perfumes are sent to us full of flavorsome love,
It even helps me think I remember from the time before my birth,
All the beauty of sweet heaven, even better than this great earth.

Now the blossoms once again fill the air with aromatic delight,
As I sit by the window, I close my eyes and my heart takes flight
To days of yesteryear, the delectable world of childhood days,
As nostalgic, redolent thoughts come as at spring beauty I gaze.
