        A LAZY DAY
Am I being otiose if I have a lazy day?
Being of no useful purpose I may say
For those who do not know the meaning
Of this maligned word knowledge I’ll bring.

Otiose is from the Latin otium meaning leisure,
A day of relaxation, much needed that’s for sure,
Is the day really useless, of no good value at all?
Not if it stops you from going crazy, climbing the wall.

Yet if you are unwilling or not wanting to work,
Otiose then I think you are, useless, wanting to shirk,
If you are a couch potato not wanting to do a thing,
Then Otiose to your mind you may want to bring.

Look it up in the dictionary and see if you agree
That we have moved away from the Latin terminology,
To have leisure time is needed for both body and mind,
So let us make otiose a good word and some leisure find.
